Job Description

This position is located in the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Federal Lands Highway Division, and is responsible for implementing the bridge and structural portions of Federal Lands Highway's (FLH) program. The program provides structural design and construction services to projects primarily located on Federal lands managed by other Federal agencies, such as the National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service, and cover a multi-state area.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: SELECTIVE SERVICE: Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for the Selective Service. BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION: If you are not a current Federal employee, you will be required to complete a background/security investigation and meet preliminary requirements prior to onboarding. PCS/RELOCATION/RECRUITMENT: Permanent Change of Station (PCS), Relocation, and Recruitment Incentive authorization varies by position/selection and a service agreement may be required. GOVERNMENT TRAVEL CARD: This position involves travel. A government contractor-issued travel card will be issued and must be retained for official business only. PHYSICAL CONDITIONS: Some walking, climbing, stooping or bending is involved in activities, such as scoping trips, inspections of existing bridges or construction projects. Scoping trips or inspections in the field involve exposure to both hot and cold weather and hazards of construction equipment and occasionally working high above ground level. PROBATIONARY PERIOD: Applicants may be required to successfully complete a one-year probationary period (unless already completed). TELEWORK ELIGIBILITY: This position is approved for telework. The number of telework days approved is determined by the agency policy, the approval of your immediate supervisor, and if applicable, approval of additional officials. You are required to report to the office on a regular basis since this is not a full-time telework position or approved as a remote work position.
